"Zimbabwe Plans To Abandon Fixing Prices For Commodities."

🟢 Completed

Background

Zimbabwe plans to stop fixing the prices of commodities and will set up a trading exchange before the end of the year where market prices will prevail, Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said. The trading platform was launched by Minister Ncube on 18 August 2021 in Harare. It was designed to curb warehousing and price discovery challenges related to farmed commodities, which local farmers encounter in their operations.
